Well day four was the Grand Canyon. Not to be too lame, but it was really Grand! I was very impressed by the beauty and the sheer magnitude of it. We stayed the night inside the park at a lodge. If you ever have a chance to do that…DON’T! It was the worst hotel I have stayed in for quite sometime.
Unfortunately Whitney was sick, so we didn’t get to go white-water-rafting, but maybe next time. I wanted to go down in the canyon, but we just didn’t have enough time. I really hope that I can do that before I die. Listen to me, I’m only 26 almost 27. heh Anyway, I hope you enjoy these pictures.
This picture reminds me of cousin IT from the Adam’s Family.
I was warned not to approach or feed the animals. I should have heeded the advice!
This is my new hat.
This older couple came up and said, “Want us to take your picture?” So I said, “Sure.” As the older lady walked up she saw my shirt which has a skull on one side and heart on the other. In between the two is a cross and the words, “death to life”. She really liked that shirt. She said, “I like that a lot.” as she touched the cross on the shirt. They then took the picture and said, “God bless.”
Whitney ate this chili in a bread bowl. She felt so sick after she ate it. She wasn’t smiling like in this picture. I had a burger, Nathan’s hot dog and a banana. heh It was the epitome of a healthy breakfast…j/k
Thanks for visiting!
Alright well I know that we are already past day three, but because I haven’t had internet I’m going to pretend we are on day three.
Yesterday, day two, we hung out in Cali, and today we are on our way to Las Vegas. We will be staying at Caesars Palace. As we checked into the hotel I asked if we could have an upgrade, and the guy said, “Yeah sure!” We got such a nice room. I felt bad for staying in it because it had two huge flat panel plasma tv’s, and a flat panel tv in the bathroom mirror! It was something straight out of cribs or lifestyles of the rich and famous. It was bigger than my first apt. after high school. Here are a few pictures of the hotel. If you ask nicely I might put some pics up of our room, but you have to ask!

How do we look?
Here are some pictures from the Belaggio. This first one is from the gardens that they have. Apparently they have a theme every so often. When I was there a few months ago it was an oriental theme. This one was an American theme. There was a train on a track going through Mt. Rushmore. It was a really cool setup. They did a very impressive job with the setup. If your ever in the area check it out. It is free and worth a stop.

My wife and I ate at In N Out 4 days in a row! It was soooo good. This is what I order- 2×4 animal style, no onions, with extra toast. In laymen’s terms that is two patties with four pieces of cheese, the buns grilled longer, and animal style is kinda like a special spread like thousand island, and with mustard smeared on the patties. I hope that makes sense, but you just need to know that they make the best burgers ever!
Here are just some pictures we took on the strip.
I love Ben & Jerry’s ice cream!
I’ll put up more pictures later and post a link to the photo gallery so you can enjoy!
Write to me!

So we took a red eye flight from Honolulu to LA. The morning began when we parked at Huntington Beach where we slept in the car for 3 hours! We were so tired it was ridiculous. After walking on the beautiful beaches we hopped in the car and headed for Hollywood to become stars, ok not really.
We drove around Sunset Blvd, Hollywood Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd and other streets. After driving around and not seeing anything special we bought a map. As we followed the map we went to Mann’s Chinese Theatre only to find some very unique characters. We saw Batgirl, Wonderwoman, Captain Jack Sparrow, who Whitney swore was Johnny Dep until we got closer, and other crazy people. Optimus Prime, from Transformers, rejected taking a picture of me I think because I had a mohawk. Maybe I will become a decepticon, a bad transformer.
Sean Connery’s block
We didn’t want to drive around all day because I could hardly see anything because I was driving, so we got a tour. This tour was to show us celeb’s houses, rodeo drive, Beverly Hills and other snobby places.
The house shown below is David’s Spade’s. He is in great comedies like Joe Dirt, SNL, Dickie Roberts etc. Apparently he hates the tour buses. He throws things at them and even tried to ram his car into one. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see him.
Then we went back to Mann’s Chinese Theatre and ate Mongolian BBQ, which is so good if you haven’t had it. Then we saw more characters like Wolverine, the Flash and Gene Simmons from Kiss. Mind you none of them were real
After that we drove to our hotel, the Sheraton, in downtown LA and went to sleep!
Today is going to be fun because we are driving to Las Vegas where we get to eat the all you can eat buffet at the Bellagio. That is by far the best buffet I have ever had, so we are stoked. I will upload more pictures later to the photo album, so check back soon!
Well Whitney and I leave Hawaii tomorrow. This will be for good. ;-( We are very sad to leave, but I am ready for a change. I get ADD very quickly regarding my residence. I often feel like Abraham who left his home to go to a place that God would show him. I’m constantly ready to move to something bigger and better. God will always be with me everywhere that I go, so I’m not worried about housing, money or anything like that. God is so good to me and always has been, so it isn’t too hard to just walk into a place that He calls me to.
I’ll keep ya posted, but we fly out tomorrow night!
Dustin!
Well, I have done it now. I have gone off the deep end. Ok, not really. I just have…..a mohawk! I finished work and I now have a full month off before I have to cut my hair and shave my face. I’ll be taking pictures everyday to show the progress…not that you really care, but this is my site! heh!
On a more serious note…
So often we do the same thing everyday and never break out of the pattern of our lives. Now, I’m not saying that you should all go get a mohawk, but it might be cool.
I am saying that God made us each unique, but we seem to blend together so well. What about our uniqueness? What about our sense of adventure?
Some of you might not know, but I am in the Coast Guard. I am currently transferring to Washington DC hence my ability to get a mohawk for a short period of time. My wife and I ALLLLMOST convinced each other to buy a VW Bug and drive it from LA to DC. What an adventure that would have been! I can’t say I wasn’t scared about it, but for a couple moments I was really excited! Well we decided not to, but maybe later in life.
Anyway, have you changed anything lately? Have you stepped out your box at all? Done something that made you feel ALIVE? Share it with me!
Hey everyone! I haven’t been able to blog anything recently because my MacBook Pro was being upgraded/repaired. I will write something tonight because I have some good stuff that God is showing me!
Check back soon!

Today, my curiosity seems to have gotten the best of me. I am a naturally curious person. I love to think about things deeply and can do it for hours. I love to notice the small things in life because I often think that those things are the most beautiful. The way that rain falls and forms droplets on a glass or the way that plants bury themselves in the dirt to display such beauty captivates my attention. I get lost in the little things.
So, today I spent a lot of time contemplating people. I notice how people interact with each other. I love how they can argue, yell, smile, kiss, or even just walk and show emotions. I often wonder how much goes unnoticed. I mean seriously do we pay attention to people or just ourselves? A lot of times I only see people watching over their own lives and forget that there are other people in the world. I think that is one faults of this generation. We care more about ourselves than blessing and sharing our lives with others. My curiosity is going to be led to find the beauty in selflessness. I want to view unselfish acts of love by complete strangers. I think that we will really be able to love each other in a deeper way if we can open our eyes and look beyond ourselves. Maybe you should try today?

Ok, so I have been kinda lazy with my blog the past couple days. It’s because….well….I guess I just haven’t made time. God has been changing a lot in my heart and I am trying to filter it all. I will come back later with a taste of what is going on. Check back later!
I have a question… Why do we as Christians seem to get so complacent? I mean we don’t put much effort into our relationship with God beyond Sunday services and/or devotionals? What about healing the sick, praying for the poor, seeing people saved, etc?
I think we get complacent because we get busy with our own lives and forget about God’s command to love people, and go out into the world baptize and make disciples. I have been really having some major soul searching about how I can cooperate with God to further develop my maturity in Him and to love people more. I am going to start taking steps to be more bold in my faith by finding people that need prayer and praying for them. I am really going to find people down on hope, sick, and just need prayer. I want to see the book of Acts come to life unlike anything I have ever seen. I have prayed for people and seen them get healed, but not in years, and it was someone in my church. I’m setting out to the streets, to the poor people of this city and I believe that God is going to start something amazing.
Would you join me? You don’t have to go pray for people, but seek out how you can mature in your walk and take steps in that direction. Get out of your comfort zone and be challeneged! Send me your name and I will post it up here so people can pray for you.
I’ll start…
to pray for courage and strength-
